We make this mens necklace by hand, from sterling silver, the silver is tested for purity at Birminghams Assay Office, the mark of recognition is applied using punches, by hand, to the bracelet and all this is to ensure it is recognised as being sterling silver, that is to say for every 1000 parts, 925 parts are pure silver.
David-Louis, the business director and product designer is a champion of the hallmarking process, his love of the hallmark heritage and in particular the hallmarking heritage of Birmingham is evident when you visit his shop and chat to him.
His passion for hallmarking and all that it entails, the quality assurance to you as a consumer and the quality assurance to him and the industry that the metal being used is up to recognised standard is played out now by David-Louis becoming a guardian of Birmingham Assay Office.
The Birmingham Assay Office Board of Guardians meet twice yearly to guide and recommend best practice and act as the catalyst for new ideas and future direction of the Birmingham Assay Office as well as to look over the previous activites to ensure best practice is being followed.
It is an honour to hold this seat and David-Louis flies the flag of hallmarking heritage with pride and professionalism.
